Herb Alpert TributeThis is a featured page

Oh Herb Alpert....what inspiration you have given us all!

When Herb Alpert released Whipped Cream and Other Delights in 1965
I'd bet he had no idea that the cover art would inspire so many imitators.

The first imitation came from comedian Pat Cooper in 1967.

The disco band Sweet Cream was next with their 1970s era take on Herb's cover.

The singing group the Frivolous Five presented us with perhaps the most disturbing cover in the late 1980s.

Finally, Soul Asylum honored us in the 1990s with their own rendition.

I look forward to seeing which millenium band wants to tackle this time-honored tradition!

That album is from the 60's, not the late 80's! (Though the women are in their late 80's!) Also, I believe it was the first parody of the cover.
